Providing Facilities for Community Organisations

The Pearce Community Centre Inc is a not-for-profit community organisation.

Located in Canberra’s Woden Valley suburb of Pearce, the Pearce Centre provides office and activity space for a range of non-government organisations. It is currently tenanted by organisations offering information, activities, counselling, training and referral services to children, youth, women, and people with disabilities.

The Pearce Centre is unique in that it is the only major community centre in Canberra not directly funded by Government. The ACT Government has provided the three buildings and 1.5ha of land once occupied by the Pearce Primary School, but the centre itself maintains this asset as well as its own administrative structure.

The Pearce Centre is managed by a committee elected by representatives from each tenant organisation. The Management Committee employs a Centre Administrator to co-ordinate, on their behalf, services and maintenance.
